A strong jaw line can provide definition to your facial contour and balance other features such as the cheek bones, chin, and nose.
Your jaw implant procedure will be performed on an outpatient basis under local or general anesthesia. Every procedure is customized to address your unique facial attributes.
A small incision under your chin is used to create a pocket to house your jaw implant. The implant is then inserted against your jawbone, and sutures will be used to hold it in place. Finally, the incision will be closed with stitches. The procedure will take approximately one to two hours to complete.
You may experience some mild soreness and swelling in your jaw after the surgery. You should keep your head elevated to minimize the swelling. You will be given antibiotics to prevent any infection.
We want you to exercise within limits immediately following your procedure. However, it may take about a week before you can resume a full regimen regular activity and return to work.
